Vedic - SlokasLord Krishna Slokas Lord Krishna was born to Devaki and Vasudeva. He is the eight incarnation of Lord Vishnu. According to Adi Sankara's commentary, Krishna is the 57th name of Vishnu and means the "Existence of knowledge and Bliss." He is usually depicted as a young cowherd with a flute in his hand. During the war of Mahabharata, Lord Krishna taught Arjuna the philosophy of life, and this forms the essence of BHAGVAD GITA. Lord Krishna is one of the most popular and worshipped deities among the Hindus. Krishna represents knowledge, wisdom, beauty and opulence. Shri Krishna is the very embodiment of love and divine ecstasy that destroys all pain and offense. Sloka on Krishna forms the part of prayers offered to the lord. Here is a list of Krishna Slokas / Shlokas:
(1) Meaning: Krishna is the Supreme Lord, Son of Devaki (Sister of Kansa) and Vasudeva. He is the slayer of Kansa and Chanur. I bow to such great lord and may god bless me with his grace always. (2) Meaning: Lord Krishna is great. Just as every rain drop that falls from the sky flows into the Ocean, in the same way every prayer offered to any deity flows to Lord Krishna. I bow to such great Lord Krishna.
(3) Meaning: Oh ! Imperishable Lord, Let me constantly recite your holy names such as KESHAVA, RAMA, DAMODARA, NARAYANA, SRIDHARA, MADHAVA, KRISHNA, RAMACHANDRA the beloved of Janaki. (4) Meaning: I bow to you O Krishna, the Supreme Guru, the son of Devaki and Vasudeva, the remover of Kamsa and Chanur
(5) Meaning: Sweet are Your lips, sweet is Your face, sweet are Your eyes, sweet is Your smile, sweet is Your heart, sweet is Your gait, O Lord of Mathura, everything about You is sweet.
(6) Meaning: I salute Lord Krishna, the universal preceptor, who has a broad chest with a srivatsa mark, who wears the vana-mala garland and who hold a conch and a discus.
